Managing transaction history

Last updated 3 days ago

Audit every payment processed through the platform, filter transaction statuses, and view granular transaction details.

The Transactions section is a secure, read-only ledger of all financial activities processed on your platform. Merchants can audit payment records, monitor transaction success rates, search individual reference keys, and inspect detailed breakdowns to reconcile daily sales with their bank statements or settlement accounts.

1. Transactions Analytics & Metrics

Four performance summary cards track transaction states for the selected period:

  • Total Transactions: The cumulative count of all payment attempts (e.g., 33).
  • Completed Transactions: The total number of successfully settled payments (e.g., 24).
  • Pending Transactions: The count of transactions currently awaiting processing or webhook verification (e.g., 0).
  • Failed Transactions: The number of payments that were declined or timed out (e.g., 5).

2. Transactions Directory

The main table displays a ledger of all transaction records. You can filter the table using the Search Transactions bar or the Status dropdown. For each record, the dashboard tracks:

  • Transaction Ref: The unique reference code generated by the payment processor or system (e.g., p10rm56p1s).
  • Customer Name: The name of the customer who initiated the transaction.
  • Order Reference: The linked order ID related to the transaction (e.g., ORD-1539556563).
  • Amount: The monetary value of the transaction in the customer's local currency (e.g., ₦34,520, $50.00, £40.00, or €45.00).
  • Date: The date when the transaction took place.
  • Status: The current status of the payment attempt, marked as 'Completed' (green) or 'Awaiting Payment' (brown/yellow).

3. Detailed Transaction View

Clicking on any row opens a Transaction Details drawer on the right side of the screen, providing granular parameters:

  • Txn Reference: The system transaction reference key.
  • Customer Name: The name of the purchaser.
  • Order Reference: The hyperlinked reference ID of the corresponding order.
  • Amount: The exact processed amount (e.g., ₦34,520, $50.00, £40.00, or €45.00).
  • Payment Method: The payment instrument used by the customer (e.g., Card, Bank Transfer).
  • Status: The payment completion status (e.g., Completed, Pending, or Failed).
  • Initiated At: The precise timestamp when the customer initiated the payment.
  • Completed At: The precise timestamp when the payment was finalized and verified.
