Learn how to create custom promotions, configure product or order-level discounts, set up shipping discounts, and manage active codes.
Discounts and coupon codes are powerful tools to incentivize buyers and increase checkout conversion rates. With Bloopy, you can create automated promotional offers or direct coupons that your AI sales agent can present to undecided customers in chat sessions.
1. Discounts Directory
The main Discounts & Coupons page displays all your promotional campaigns. For each coupon, you can track:
- Title: The display name or code of the discount (e.g., Summer Sale).
- Category: The scope of the discount, such as Amount off Product, Amount off Order, or Free Shipping.
- Discount Type: The pricing model applied, such as Percentage or Fixed Amount.
- Expires: The end date of the promotion (e.g., June 24, 2026).
- Status: The current state of the discount, marked as 'Active' (green) or 'Expired' (gray).
Clicking the vertical three-dot action menu on any row opens management controls:
- View Discount: Inspect the configured settings, usage rates, and performance metrics.
- Edit Discount: Modify active properties (only available for campaigns that are currently active).
- Extend Discount: Open a modal to select a new end date and time to keep the promotion running.
- Archive Discount: Stop the promotion and remove it from active checkout lookup.
2. Extending a Discount
If a discount has expired or is nearing its expiration date, you can extend its duration using the Extend Discount action modal:
- New End Date & Time: Use the calendar and time picker input to specify a future date and time for the promotion.
- Save Extension: Save the updated date rules to instantly extend the promotion or reactivate the coupon code if it was previously expired.
3. Discount Categories
When adding a new discount (by clicking '+ Add Discount' on the top right), you must select one of the following categories:
- Amounts off products: Apply a discount to specific physical goods or services selected from your catalog.
- Amounts off order: Apply a discount to the customer's total shopping cart value. When using a percentage discount type, you can check the 'Set maximum discount amount' option to specify an upper limit (e.g., capped at ₦5,000, $50.00, £40.00, or €45.00) to protect your profit margins on large orders.
- Shipping discounts: Offer free shipping or discounted delivery rates. For Free Shipping, the discount type and value input fields are hidden because the discount is implicitly set to free shipping (100% off).
4. Customizing Discount Parameters
Each discount category opens a setup form organized into four primary configuration cards:
- Discount Information: Define the basic attributes including the Discount Title (e.g., 'Summer Sale 20% Off'), the Discount Type (Percentage or Fixed Amount), and the Discount Value (e.g., percentage rate or raw currency amount).
- Product Selection: Specify if the discount applies to 'All Products' or only to 'Specific Products' selected from your catalog.
- Customer Eligibility: Define who can use the promotion (e.g., 'All Customers' or specific customer cohorts).
- Minimum Purchase Requirements: Define purchase thresholds that must be met to activate the discount (e.g., 'No Minimum Requirement', a minimum order value in your local currency, or a minimum quantity of items).
Tip: Feed specific discounts to your Bloopy AI agent in its instructions, allowing it to dynamically distribute promotional offers when negotiating with undecided shoppers.
